Ian and the shark

My brother and his family live in Oakland, CA. Four of them were in Sunny Dunny yesterday, and they told me about Ian’s encounter with a Sevengill shark, and how the result is on YouTube. My oldest nephew Ian, I should explain, is a “burly fisherman” who works on angling boats out of Oakland. He didn’t come over this trip, so I couldn’t get the story ‘from the horse’s mouth’ as it were, but accounts told to his brothers and parents differ somewhat. He either put his arm in the water to retrieve a fish (or a line), or had an argument with the shark while landing it.

For those of a nervous disposition, it’s a bit gruesome near the end, and, sadly, there’s a lot of bad language in it, but what can you do?

Wikipedia ilustrates the teeth on this aggressive predator (I’m sure they mean the shark, not Ian), and I think he came off lightly.
