I was in Death Valley a few years ago, and I took this photo of Zabriskie Point. It’s a very distinctive feature, named after an engineer in one of the borax mines in the Valley. The clouds in the photo are unusual for that place. In fact later in the day it rained for the first time in several months.
The cinematography in Antonioni’s film was rather stunning, but I can’t say that I can remember anything else from the film.
